The narrow black NISSAFORS is listed at $24.99 and 19 7/8 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches deep by 26 3/8 inches high. Its seven-and-a-half-inch depth is the reason to use it as a sidecar, not assume it can hold a coffee maker.
Park it beside an existing counter. Put filters, beans, mugs, and a scale on the upper shelf; backup coffee and cleaning supplies go below. Brew on the fixed kitchen counter, where the appliance has a full-depth surface and direct outlet access. This layout adds storage without taking a large bite out of a walkway.
Best for: a galley kitchen with usable counter space but almost no drawer storage.
2. The movable manual-brew cart: full-size RÅSKOG
The black RÅSKOG is $39.99 and measures 13 3/4 by 17 3/4 by 30 3/8 inches. IKEA describes lockable casters, which makes it practical to park for use and roll aside afterward.
Reserve the top tray for a manual dripper, scale, and empty mug. Keep the kettle on the kitchen counter unless its manual and the cart’s instructions confirm a safe, stable arrangement. Hot water, a rolling base, and a trailing cord are a poor combination. Store filters and coffee on the middle level and the rinsing bin or spare mugs at the bottom.
Best for: pour-over or AeroPress drinkers who need a station that moves after breakfast.
3. The under-counter refill cart: compact RÅSKOG
The compact beige-yellow RÅSKOG is $29.99 and measures 11 by 15 by 24 inches. Its lower height lets it slip beneath some counters or tables, but measure your opening before ordering.
Treat this version as a refill cabinet on wheels. Group one week’s beans, filters, tea, and shelf-stable extras in small bins. Keep liquids upright and do not crowd cleaning chemicals next to food items. Pull the cart out to restock the fixed coffee counter, then return it below.
Best for: a studio where visible floor area matters more than displaying the setup.
4. The fixed cubby station: two-cube KALLAX
The compact KALLAX listing is $34.99 and shows a 30 1/8-by-16 1/8-inch format. IKEA says the unit can stand or lie and can take inserts and boxes. That flexibility makes it more useful as a fixed storage base than as a generic bookshelf pressed into service without planning.
Use the upper surface only after confirming the exact assembled orientation, load, anchoring instructions, and appliance clearances in the current product and machine manuals. Put coffee and daily tools in one open cubby; use an insert or bin in the other for visual calm. Leave the appliance’s vents, water-fill path, and hot components unobstructed.
Best for: a defined dining-area coffee corner where a fixed piece of furniture is allowed.
A renter-safe planning sequence
- Mark the proposed furniture footprint on the floor with painter’s tape.
- Keep at least the walkway clearance required by your lease, building, or local rules; do not infer safety from a styled product photo.
- Place the appliance template on top and add room for opening, filling, steaming, and removing parts.
- Check that the original appliance cord reaches a permanent wall outlet without crossing the path.
